Bonded and Insured!

You might remember a few months back we had a segment of blogs on “ 3 Questions to ask your movers.” Well its time to circle back and explain a little more about these questions and why they are important to ask.

On todays blog we are going to talk about the question

Why is this such an important question? Think of it this way, would you go to someone who said they were a doctor but could not prove they were a doctor? No, you would make sure that the doctor you picked was licensed, insured and had a degree. Why wouldn’t you do the same for the moving company you hired?

Say you hire a “moving company” they finish moving your belongings and you start unpacking and notice things broken. You call them back and to your surprise the number is disconnected.  What now? You are out the money you paid them plus left with broken things you can not get replaced. Making sure the moving company you hire is bonded and insured will give you the peace of mind that if something is to go wrong, they will stand behind you to help come up with a solution.

Here are some red flags you are not hiring a bonded and insured company:

  • They cannot provide you with proper license that their local state requires them to have.
  • They can’t provide you with proof that they are insured.
  • They do not offer you valuation coverage.
  • They have no proof of physical address, business cards, website, email address.
  • They use unmarked trucks and no uniforms.
  • They can not provide you with any references.

So make sure when you call to hire your moving company you ask the question “Are you bonded and insured?”
